FIGHT ME.

Hello bloggers! This is a rant sort of thing. I am tired so excuse the errors. You have been warned.

  Lately- no. Not lately. For a very long time, I have seen art in places where it shouldn’t be: Under someone else’s name. Thousands of artists’ hard work is almost completely erased when you repost art. They don’t get the credit, they don’t see the notes. They probably don’t even know you posted it in the first place. And the people who like and reblog the stolen art are non the wiser.

  When i go into the tag, i see about 3 of my comics or drawings reposted each time. No credit. No link. Nothing. I rarely go into the tag anymore because i don’t want to write anymore messages asking for my art to be taken down and reblogged the proper way. I see about 20 posts with gifs and drawings without credit within the first couple scrolls.

  The worst isn’t even on tumblr. Instagram is almost mainly reposts. My work has been edited, used for promotion, watermarked, claimed to be made from a different person, all on the same App!

  It’s pretty bad as well when it comes to simply reblogging it. People really like to remove the caption, promote their blog, and write the same exact thing to make it like like they posted it. 

  I’ll never understand promoting and trying to manipulate people by taking credit for something that isn’t yours. Why would you spend all that time removing the signature, editing it, removing the source? There’s no point. It’s a hollow victory. You didn’t earn those followers and likes by yourself. and for what? It’s not a race. It wont matter how many tumblr followers you had in a couple of years. It’s not something to be proud of if you got them through reposts and bargaining. 

Things to remember/know

• Weheartit is the backbone of Hell.
• You can find the source to something by searching the image url in google images. (search by image)
• The least you can do is link the source. 
• But if it’s on tumblr already just frackin reblog it.
• DON’T. EVEN. POST. ON. INSTAGRAM. Instagram is for your stupid food. Not things you find on the internet.
• Removing the caption is rude.
• RUDE.
• Weheartit, google, unknown, is not a source.
• People spend hard work on their art, and even just reposting it is like enjoying a cafe’s dessert and then turning around by selling it yourself at your own cafe. It’s wrong.
